After watching the Democratic debates, I find that I must disagree with the idea of free health care. The Democrat's continually push this agenda, rolling it along using heart sob stories of little kids, and hard working families who simply can't afford to go to the doctor. As nice as they make free health care sound on paper or words, the reality is a stark contrast. The true question is why they want hard working Americans who are already burdened with financial difficulties to take on the additional weight of paying for the rest of America. I mean the drug addicts, pan handlers, and just plain lazy. May the candidates have never came across a person who has been smoking crack, heroin, meth, or even cigarettes. The average drug user's teeth are rotten, literally. Do the democrat's expect me to pay for people who have lived their lives at the end of a crack pipe? Should my tax dollars be spent to buy them dentures, because they smoked their teeth away? What about a pan handler, who spends his days at the entrance of the freeway, should he be given health care? Another major problem I have, is abortions are now part of health care.
The average woman who has an abortion isn't a scared teenager, like the pro abortionists would have you believe. Rather, 65% of them are over the age of 25. That says to me that I am now going to pay for some party girl, that got drunk, and knocked up. Now you are not only paying for a drug addicts health care, because they ruined their lives, but also every girl that gets drunk and has unprotected sex. I don't care if they want to have an abortion, like they say, their body, their choice. I just don't want them to do it at the expense of my paycheck.
If we give everyone free health care we are not promoting people take charge of their lives, but giving them the means to continue in their destructive life style. At what costs to us? Higher taxes, lower quality health care for the rest of hard working Americans. Higher taxes? The nation is already deep in debt, so where is the money coming from to pay for all of this. Think of it, there were over a million abortions last year, at $50 an abortion, that is a pretty big bill. That is just for abortions. You and I both know that government loves to spend our money for us.
The way it will lower quality in health care, well, have you ever seen the enthusiasm a bureaucrat or government employee works at. Even if you don't believe me, you have seen at work the way people act who are not motivated, or are simply punching a time clock. I ask you, what is the worst managed programs right now. I would have to say, that a majority are government programs. Finally I think about people who would go everyday for free and complain about fake pains, until a doctor either gives them prescriptions for oxycotton, perkaset, medical marijuana, or some other form of pain killer. If you don't think this true look at the number of people who are already hooked on prescription pain pills, or smoke marijuana. Did you know that you can buy up to ½ lb of weed at a time with a medical marijuana card! Suddenly your tax dollars are either paying for, or helping compensate for their addictions. If they can't get a prescription for themselves, they can buy them from a friend who can. Health care also helps cover cost of medication. Now your helping cover drug dealers costs.
After hearing all of this, that you would never hear from Obama, Hillary, or Edwards, you can't honestly say that an umbrella health care system is a good idea. The candidates know this, they are doing one thing. Trying to buy their way into the white house using your tax dollars. The same way as the rulers of the Roman empire used to give free food, and gladiator fights to buy the good will of the people of Rome. I believe that there should be some aid for families in a real crisis, just not a umbrella giving everyone free health care with no incentives to change a destructive life style.

The last thing we ever want to do is put our lives in the hands of government. Do I want Hillary to decide if I live or die? What do you think?
Government health care is a fool's dream. Since this electioneering began you have not heard a word about the desparate condition of medl-care. Why? Don't you think the repubs would bring that up every time a dem suggests a government takeover of health care? If medi-care is a failure how could socialized medicine be anything less than a disaster of mega proportions?
Think about how many times you've heard someone say:
A. "Man, I've got to get a job soon. I've got no health care."
B. "I can't afford to quit(retire). I'd lose my health care.
Can you imagine the falloff in our nation's productivity with nationalized healthcare in place?
Free health care???? Get real, get educated!!!! Nothing is FREE !!!! Someone, somewhere is going to pay for everything the "government" promises to give away FREE. Do you have a job? Do you get paid? Do you want to get a raise and earn more money? Do you want the government to get 70%-80% ???
But you will have FREE health care !!!!!!!
"pro abortionists"----no one is "pro abortion", just Pro-Choice, because we should not legislate what someone can or cannot do with their bodies.
I work in health care, and let me say, it can't get any worse. I have seen patients put on ventilators or "expire" because they didn't have insurance and was put on the "cheap" and under-staffed units. I have watched doctors and hospital administrations milk every penny from the insured, putting them on a range of medications during their stay that they did not need. This system is dangerous and insufficent.
You mention Drug addicts as one you "don't want to pay for", ever think if they had health care, perhaps the underlying reason they turned to drugs (depression, anxiety, or the like usually) would be treated and thus the number of "druggies" would drop?
Here's a way to pay for it, put some transparency in government, control and contain "earmarks" from BOTH parties, and stop engaging in wars without justification that have already cost us 2 trilllion, NOT counting the 9 billion that went missing and the "cost plus" contracts given on a "no bid" (anti-capitalist) basis, so that contractors become cheaper and (god forbid) fiscally responsibile..
